Should a Christian go to a chiropractor?

Answer

The Bible encourages us to take care of our bodies and to do what we can to maintain good health. If chiropractic treatment can help with this, there is no reason why we should not consider seeing a chiropractor.

The Bible emphasizes good health as a positive aspect that should be pursued and valued. Well-wishes for good health and long life were commonly exchanged in both the Old and New Testaments (1 Samuel 25:5-6;3 John 1:2). Husbands are instructed to love and care for their wives as they do for their own bodies “So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.”, (Ephesians 5:28). Our bodies are considered the temple of the Holy Spirit and, therefore, should be nurtured and maintained in good health (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Many individuals view chiropractic treatment as a preferable alternative to medications, which may have adverse side effects, and invasive procedures like surgery. While some question the value of chiropractic care and express concerns about its association with other “alternative” medical practices, the primary objective of chiropractic care—to maintain loose and unimpeded vertebrae—is widely acknowledged for its medical benefits. Some have experienced relief or healing through chiropractic care when conventional medical treatments have been unsuccessful.

Just as in all matters, Christians are advised to seek God’s wisdom and guidance when selecting medical treatments for themselves and their families. God has promised to generously provide wisdom to His children “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

shall be given to him.” », (James 1:5).
