Fast-food establishments attract us by allowing us to customize our meals to our liking. Some cafes offer a wide array of coffee flavors and types. Even when purchasing homes and vehicles, we can search for ones that have all the amenities and characteristics we desire. We no longer exist in a world limited to just chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Choice reigns supreme! You can discover nearly anything you desire based on your individual preferences and requirements.
So, what about a religion that perfectly suits you? How about a faith that is free of guilt, imposes no obligations, and isn’t burdened with numerous rules and restrictions? Such a religion exists, just as I have described. But should religion be chosen like selecting a favorite ice cream flavor?
With numerous voices competing for our attention, why should someone consider Jesus over, for instance, Muhammad, Confucius, Buddha, Charles Taze Russell, or Joseph Smith? After all, do all paths lead to paradise? Aren’t all religions fundamentally the same? The reality is that not all religions lead to paradise, just as not all roads lead to Indiana.
Jesus alone speaks with the authority of God because He alone overcame death. Muhammad, Confucius, and the others remain in their graves to this day. However, Jesus, by His own power, emerged from the tomb three days after being crucified on a Roman cross. Anyone who has power over death deserves our consideration. Anyone who has power over death deserves to be listened to.
The evidence supporting Jesus’s resurrection is compelling. Firstly, there were over five hundred eyewitnesses of the resurrected Christ! That is a substantial number of eyewitnesses. Five hundred testimonies cannot be disregarded. Additionally, there is the issue of the empty tomb. The eEnemies of Jesus could have easily stopped all talk of the resurrection by producing His dead, decaying body, but there was no dead body for them to produce! The tomb was empty! Could the disciples have stolen His body? Hardly. To prevent such a contingency, the tomb of Jesus had been heavily guarded by armed soldiers. Considering His closest followers had fled in fear at His arrest and crucifixion, it is most unlikely this ragtag band of frightened fishermen would have gone head to head against trained, professional soldiers. Nor would they have sacrificed their lives and become martyrs—as most of them did—for a fraud. The simple fact is that the resurrection of Jesus cannot be explained away!
Again, anyone who has power over death deserves to be heard. Jesus proved His power over death; therefore, we need to hear what He says. Jesus claims to be the only way to salvation “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”, (John 14:6). He is not a way; He is not one of many ways. Jesus is the way.
And this same Jesus says, “Come to me all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest” “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”, (Matthew 11:28). This is a tough world and life is difficult. Most of us are pretty well bloodied, bruused, and battle-scarred. Agree? So what do you want? Restoration or mere religion? A living Savior or one of many dead “prophets”? A meaningful relationship or empty rituals? Jesus is not a choice—He is the choice!
Jesus is the right “religion” if you are looking for forgiveness “To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.”, (Acts 1:10).
(Acts 10:43). Jesus is the correct “faith” if you seek a meaningful connection with God «The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. », (John 10:10). Jesus is the right “faith” if you desire an everlasting home in Heaven «For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. », (John 3:16). Put your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior; you will not regret it! Trust in Him for the forgiveness of your sins; you will not be let down.
If you wish to have a “correct relationship” with God, here is a sample prayer. Remember, reciting this prayer or any other prayer will not save you. It is only believing in Christ that can save you from sin. This prayer is merely a way to convey to God your faith in Him and express gratitude for providing your salvation. “God, I acknowledge that I have sinned against you and deserve punishment. However, Jesus Christ bore the punishment I deserve so that by trusting in Him, I could be pardoned. I place my faith in You for salvation. Thank You for Your amazing grace and forgiveness – the gift of eternal life! Amen!”
