“And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion” (Revelation 13:2)
It is like a leopard, but have the feet of a bear and the mouth of a lion. This appears to be a description of the monument installed in the UN Plaza in New York, but it seems to be the same mentioned in the book of Revelation.
This week a discussion emerged on social media about the similarity of the monument, “Guardian of international peace and security,” with the text of Revelation 13:2, which reads: “And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”
The guardian, which was installed outside the UN, was donated by the government of Oaxaca, Mexico. The monument is an “alebrije,” a type of folk crafts in Mexico, Guiame reports.
“A guardian for international peace and security sits on the Visitor’s Plaza outside #UN Headquarters. The guardian is a fusion of jaguar and eagle and donated by the Government of Oaxaca, Mexico“ explained the UN Mission in Mexico, through Twitter.
Users didn’t wait to share their opinions, saying:
“Interestingly, 2 beasts recorded in the book of Revelation are said to symbolize political power and were described with leopard like features. Other beasts were recorded with wings to symbolize speed/swiftness. I’m curious where the artists got their inspiration for this work,” said Scott Freeze.
While for the Chilean missionary Vergara, the moment could be one of the “signs of the antichrist” mentioned in Revelation 13: 2.
“How crazy, however, it is not a coincidence! And it’s happening right now, right in front of your eyes. The Antichrist already has a seat within the UN. It already manifests itself by offering peace to the world! If you don’t believe it, please wait! So, do you still doubt that Christ is at the door?” He said through an Instagram post.
He also said:“Whatever the UN supports, question it! If they support something, know that it is not in your favor, follower of Christ,” he said.
