Diseases, wars, conflicts, violence, lawlessness, and persecution are part of what is considered the signs of the imminent end promised by the Bible for the world, once the nations have received the good news of the Gospel and the return of Jesus becomes a reality. Even for those who do not have a specific affinity to the faith, they know that this time is already happening.
Chilean scholar and researcher, Felipe Arancibia Venegas, has conducted an analysis of certain passages from the Bible that he believes could indicate the proximity of the apocalypse. While he did not provide an exact date, he maintains that there are signs showing that the said event is closer than believed. This analysis is based on research conducted by the expert over a period of more than ten years.
“90% of the apocalypse is pure prophecy. Events have occurred that place us within a chronology. Remember that for God, a thousand years can be like a day… we may not know the exact day, but we will see signs,” he said, referencing Matthew 24:32.
He emphasized that the word of God clearly states that the coming of the Son of Man will be at the door when a series of signs have been fulfilled.
“I assure you that all this will happen before the people of this time die. Heaven and earth will cease to exist, but my words will not fail to be fulfilled, no one knows it, not even the angels in heaven nor the Son, only the Father knows,” he said, citing the parable of the fig tree.
The researcher also referenced what he termed ‘satanic teachings’ when there is an inversion of values. According to his words, “what is considered good will become evil, and what is considered evil will be labeled as good” (Isaiah 5:20).
He also mentioned a ‘distortion’ present in the book of Romans, alluding to the world’s tendency to pay homage to the creation instead of the author of it. In this regard, the Chilean affirmed that he does not belong to any religion, but does believe in the existence of God as a higher being.
“The end of the world will indeed occur… It is not about being apocalyptic, but for you to take precautions about the things that are to come, which are evident,” he asserted.
Clearly, there are signs that are unfolding before our eyes, and there may be more yet to come, but this should only serve as an impetus for the light of the Gospel to reach the nations, so that everyone knows there is salvation in Christ and also hope for eternal life.
“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not troubled, for all these things must come to pass; but the end is not yet” – Matthew 24:6.
