“The focus is the glory of God,” explained pastor about the real reason to celebrate Christmas

Pastor Sugel Mechelen during one of his sermons explained the true reason for celebrating Christmas, which has deviated at this time, saying that it is necessary for everyone to know that these dates are to rejoice in the birth of the Savior of the world.

During the message he delivered to his church and shared on his YouTube channel “Biblical Church of the Lord Jesus Christ”, Mechelen said that this season is a reminder for people to focus on what true Christmas is and who the true protagonist is.

“What was the first Christmas hymn ever written?” he asked.

“Glory to God in the highest. The focus of Christmas is the glory of God. Christ was born for the glory of God,” he added.

Citing Romans 3:23, he said that the human being “falls short of achieving God’s purpose if he lives in sin”, since man has decided to live for his own glory by following his own desires not aligned with the will of the heavenly Father.

“God created us and equipped us so that we could live for his glory,” he said.

“God gave us a mind to think, God gave us a heart to feel, God gave us a will to decide, and a mouth to praise, but man has corrupted all those gifts to carry out his own agenda,” he added.

Likewise, he explained that the true gift of Christmas is Jesus, the sins and rebellion of the human being must be recognized.

“Surrender to God, trusting solely in Christ, and the saving work He accomplished, on the cross of Calvary,” he said.

“… do not waste that gift, that is why God announced his birth so many centuries in advance,” he stressed.

Ending his message, Mechelen invited everyone to accept Christ into their lives while there is time.
