After the reaction to concerning tweets that emerged shortly after being announced as a brand ambassador, Doritos has severed ties with a Spanish transgender activist.

The 24-year-old male singer, who has around 370,000 followers on Instagram and is known as Samantha Hudson, sparked controversy this week due to tweets from 2015 expressing inappropriate desires toward a young girl.
Despite the tweet being deleted, screenshots circulated on social media after Hudson’s involvement in a Doritos promotion titled “Crunch Talks.”
In another translated post, Hudson tweeted, “In the middle of the street in Mallorca in my underwear, shouting that I’m a nymphomaniac in front of a super pretty 8-year-old girl,” as reported by The Daily Mail.
Hudson, also known as Iván González Ranedo, made offensive comments about rape victims on social media, stating, “I hate women who are victims of rape and go to self-help centers to overcome their trauma”, accompanied by several profanities.
This led to a boycott of Doritos, owned by Pepsico, prompting Hudson to apologize for the comments, claiming they were made in jest and in poor taste.
“I don’t remember writing such atrocities. At that time, I used to say nonsensical things, the more offensive the better, because I thought that ‘dark humor’ was funny,” said Hudson according to Rolling Stone.
In a television interview, Hudson called for the abolition of the nuclear monogamous family. Doritos issued a statement indicating that Hudson’s comments were unacceptable due to their violence and sexism, but did not mention Hudson’s pedophilic remarks or gender identity.
The Spanish division of the company decided to end its relationship with Hudson and halt any related campaign activities.
Hudson’s expulsion from Doritos was interpreted by several media outlets as a result of a right-wing transphobic boycott campaign, similar to the one faced by Anheuser-Busch for employing the trans man Dylan Mulvaney. Following Bud Light’s collaboration with Mulvaney in 2023, the brand lost $1.4 billion in sales due to the outrage of figures like Kid Rock, although their stocks later recovered.
Target also experienced a significant decrease in sales last year after selling satanic and transgender clothing, leading to strong negative reactions from some consumers.
