48 singers from 14 different countries took part in this a cappella perfomance. David Wesley produced it in 2018.

This work was posted to YouTube over a year ago, however, currently, it is getting more receptivity due to covid-19 pandemic; not only for the fact that is a virtual project but for the massage of hope it shares ‘In Christ Alone’.

Wesley wrote below his YouTube post, “This virtual choir a cappella performance features the voices of 48 singers from 14 countries. It was a labour of love lasting 5 months, and many dozens of work hours. We pray that you are blessed by the music and the message of this modern hymn.”

The producer of the video said that he decided to start this project with the ” In Christ Alone” song for many reasons.

“I decided on ‘In Christ Alone’ for a few reasons. It’s a deeply meaningful song, presenting the gospel in a nutshell. It’s a memorable and singable melody. My solo version of the song was already my most popular video on YouTube (2 million views at the time of launching the 2018 virtual choir). It seemed like a good fit,” Wesley said.

A past production that gets more meaning nowadays

What the producer of this video did not know was that his work would be more meaningful for him and others by this time.

An important fact to mention is that Wesley is a nurse. He works in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a community hospital in Ontario, Canada. His every day routine is to give a helping hand to covid-19 patients and keep fighting for this virus not to spread.

For that reason, he moved into the basement of his house to protect his family from exposure to the virus.
