Christian athlete Tim Tebow encourages young people to live passionately for Christ and not for sports, as he did

Invited as a speaker at the “Passion 2023” Christian conference, Christian athlete Tim Tebow encouraged youth to define life with passion for Christ and not prioritize the things of the world.

Tebow spoke at the conference last weekend about living a passionate life for Christ, something even he is applying after prioritizing sports over his faith.

“Will our greatest passion at the end of our life will it be for the cause of Christ?” he said, explaining that passion in life develops to a point where you “care so much about something that you are willing to suffer for it.”

He named two of the main reasons why many people do not pursue their passion for Christ, and they are: “passion for the world” and “apathy”, using himself as an example, since last year he pursued his career in sports more than his own faith.

“I think, in my life, my greatest passion so far in my life hasn’t been for Jesus. I’d say it’s honestly probably been for sports,” he admitted. He defined “passion” as “caring so much for something you’re willing to suffer for it.”

For Tebow, there are Christians who are “just apathetic” to living passionately for Christ, who “take an attitude of it doesn’t matter.”

“Being passionate about sports isn’t wrong … being passionate about your job, your occupation, I would say it’s a good thing. But is it more than Jesus? Is it more than the call in your life? Is it more than hurting people? Or is it in its proper place?”, he questioned.

Under the condition that the believer’s life can certainly be considered difficult at certain stages, there are those who chose apathy; but he left the verse of Hebrews 12:1 as a reminder of the importance of walking the path with passion.

“We get to be part of the greatest rescue mission in the history of the world because of what Jesus did on the cross, and He has commanded us to take it to the world. But do we have any urgency? Why do we need to run?”

“Let’s make sure this year we’re passionate about the cause of Christ because we know it’s the only thing that’s worth it.”

Tebow is known for being a wide speaker of the Christian faith and preaching at all the events he attends for being an American football star within the NFL, along with his wife, Demi-Leigh Tebow, they have blessed many humble children with various resources.
