“All glory to God,” Sydney McLaughlin exalts the Lord in her first remarks after breaking her own world record

Christian athlete Sydney McLaughlin once again broke her own records while participating in the World Championships in Athletics in the USA; she entirely dedicated her triumph to God.

“All glory to God,” Sydney McLaughlin exalts the Lord in her first remarks after breaking her own world record.

McLaughlin, who is just 22 years old, ran the 400-meter hurdles last Friday and clocked a time of 50.68 seconds, which has beaten her previous record of 51.41 set last month.

For the athlete’s career, this is the fourth time that Sydney has managed to break the 400m hurdles world record in 13 months; This achievement would not have been possible without the faith in God that she has and which drives her to be better every day.

She immediately testified for an interview with NBC Sports that God deserves all the glory for such an achievement, whom she asked for mercy and grace on that day.

“I’ll have to start off by saying all the glory to God,” she said to start the interview.

“These past few days getting ready for this race, Hebrews 4:16 has been on my mind – coming boldly to His throne to receive mercy and grace. And I think He really gave me the strength to do it today, so all the glory goes to God.”

“Coming into this race I just wanted to go out there and attack the whole thing. Bobby (Kersee, her coach) and I have been training for this all year and we wanted to go execute. The last 100 hurt really bad, but I’m really grateful for it and I’m grateful for that time and bringing a medal home to Team USA,” she added.

And as if it seemed impossible, Sydney confessed that she thought she could have finished the race much faster than she did.

“Honestly, we thought we’d be able to go a little bit faster,” she told NBC. “But we’re super grateful with that time; anything under 51 was a win for us. We just know that there’s more to push and there’s more to be able to be taken off of that. So I’m honestly super grateful for today,” she confessed.

McLaughlin has been recognized for openly expressing her faith in Christ, expressing that believing in God gives her absolute peace and provides her with strength every moment; Likewise, she always urges her followers and spectators of her competitions to trust in the Lord during the process and give glory to God for everything that happens.
