The lawsuit against Trump over the Stormy Daniels case has been postponed until April, with jury selection set to begin on the 15th of that month. Despite this, Trump and his team received favorable news from an appeals court, with a significant reduction in his bond.

“Trump faced a Monday deadline to pay the $454 million fine or post bond in his business fraud case after Judge Arthur Engoron ordered him in February to pay $355 million for siding with New York Attorney General Letitia James in a civil lawsuit. The payment ballooned to over $450 million with interest. The appeals court reduced his bond to $175 million, substantially less than the $454 million bond ordered by Judge Engoron, and gave him an additional 10 days to pay the funds,” explained Newsweek.
Following the outcome, Trump shared an anonymous message on his social media platform “Truth,” which stirred controversy. The message mentioned the persecution of Christ during Holy Week and implied that Trump had faced trials at a similar time, leading to media speculation that Trump was comparing himself to Jesus.
While some argue that Trump’s legal troubles are a result of his own actions, his followers believe that a political witch hunt is underway to prevent his return to the White House.
The reference to Psalm 109:3-8, which speaks of a “Prayer for the Punishment of the Wicked,” has been used by Trump to argue that he is being unfairly persecuted, a situation he claims to have faced from the start of his legal problems.
Trump has secured a victory in the legal case brought by Stormy Daniels, who has been ordered to pay over $120,000 in legal fees to the politician’s attorneys. The Appeals Court has sided with the former president on this matter.
Despite the controversy, this appears to be just a glimpse of how fierce and chaotic the 2024 election contest will be, should Trump seek to reclaim power. In light of this, the U.S. needs leadership that acknowledges its mistakes and can repent on behalf of the nation with morally upright actions to restore society in the eyes of God.
