“Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.
Why have you despised the word of the Lord, to do what is evil in his sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and have taken his wife to be your wife and have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.
Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year. And David sought the face of the Lord. And the Lord said, “There is bloodguilt on Saul and on his house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”

Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.
Then my tongue shall tell of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long.
But you, O God, will cast them down into the pit of destruction; men of blood and treachery shall not live out half their days. But I will trust in you.
Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, the Lord, belong deliverances from death.
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”
But Israel is saved by the Lord with everlasting salvation; you shall not be put to shame or confounded to all eternity.
If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.

For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.
