After two whole years, Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing by the Nile,


Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, “I remember my offenses today.


And the king said, “What honor or distinction has been bestowed on Mordecai for this?” The king’s young men who attended him said, “Nothing has been done for him.”


My relatives have failed me, my close friends have forgotten me.


until what he had said came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him.


I have been forgotten like one who is dead; I have become like a broken vessel.


For I hear the whispering of many— terror on every side!— as they scheme together against me, as they plot to take my life.


who drink wine in bowls and anoint themselves with the finest oils, but are not grieved over the ruin of Joseph!
