But I beseech thee, my father, to desire him, that he would vouchsafe to accept one half of all things that have been brought.

Tobit answered, “It is right, my son, for him to receive half of everything that he had when he came back.”

But I implore you, my father, to ask him if he would perhaps deign to take for himself half of all the things that have been brought."

Tobit answered, “Give him half of what he helped you bring back. He well deserves that.”

The old man said, “It is due to him.”

“My son,” I replied, “he deserves to get half of everything he brought back.”
