But David said, "What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah, that you should this day be as an adversary to me? Shall anyone be put to death in Israel this day? For do I not know that I am this day king over Israel?"


But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?"[1] In all this Job did not sin with his lips.


With whose help have you uttered words, and whose breath has come out from you?


therefore I despise myself, and repent[1] in dust and ashes."


Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.


The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?


But he turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance[6] to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man."


Peter answered him, "Though they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away."


Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."


And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword and struck the servant[7] of the high priest and cut off his ear.


And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, "Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?"[5]


And they went on to another village.


concerning sin, because they do not believe in me;


From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers,[3] these things ought not to be so.


Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.


Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
