Now therefore, please let your servant remain instead of the boy as a servant to my lord, and let the boy go back with his brothers.


Then Joseph could not control himself before all those who stood by him. He cried, "Make everyone go out from me." So no one stayed with him when Joseph made himself known to his brothers.


Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the disaster that I will bring upon this place and its inhabitants.' " And they brought back word to the king.


For how can I bear to see the calamity that is coming to my people? Or how can I bear to see the destruction of my kindred?"
