And all the king's servants who were at the king's gate bowed down and did obeisance to Haman; for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai did not bow down or do obeisance.


or with princes who have gold, who fill their houses with silver.


For the wicked boast of the desires of their heart, those greedy for gain curse and renounce the Lord.


and those riches were lost in a bad venture; though they are parents of children, they have nothing in their hands.


Ephraim has said, “Ah, I am rich, I have gained wealth for myself; in all of my gain no offense has been found in me that would be sin.”


And I will say to my soul, “‘Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.” ’


All who hear the words of this oath and bless themselves, thinking in their hearts, “We are safe even though we go our own stubborn ways” (thus bringing disaster on moist and dry alike) —


Thus you shall salute him: ‘Peace be to you, and peace be to your house, and peace be to all that you have.
