Proverbs 27:4

He had possessions of flocks and herds, and a great household, so that the Philistines envied him.


So his brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.


But since Onan knew that the offspring would not be his, he spilled his semen on the ground whenever he went in to his brother's wife, so that he would not give offspring to his brother.


Surely vexation kills the fool, and jealousy slays the simple.


A tranquil mind gives life to the flesh, but passion makes the bones rot.


A stone is heavy, and sand is weighty, but a fool's provocation is heavier than both.


For jealousy arouses a husband's fury, and he shows no restraint when he takes revenge.


Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is strong as death, passion fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a raging flame.


For he realized that it was out of jealousy that they had handed him over.

We must not be like Cain who was from the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother's righteous.


So Saul eyed David from that day on.
