I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured in my bosom the words of his mouth.


So teach us to count our days that we may gain a wise heart.


for gaining instruction in wise dealing, righteousness, justice, and equity;


Those who keep the law are wise children, but companions of gluttons shame their parents.


My child, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments;


Listen, children, to a father's instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight;


Hear, my child, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many.


Bind them upon your heart always; tie them around your neck.


My child, keep my words and store up my commandments with you;


Does not wisdom call, and does not understanding raise her voice?


Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn her seven pillars.
