Far be it from you to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?”


So go out at once and speak kindly to your servants; for I swear by the Lord, if you do not go, not a man will stay with you this night; and this will be worse for you than any disaster that has come upon you from your youth until now.”

One who justifies the wicked and one who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the Lord.


It is not right to be partial to the guilty, or to subvert the innocent in judgment.


Now you are walled around with a wall; siege is laid against us; with a rod they strike the ruler of Israel upon the cheek.


When he had said this, one of the police standing nearby struck Jesus on the face, saying, “Is that how you answer the high priest?”
