But David said, “What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah, that you should today become an adversary to me? Shall anyone be put to death in Israel this day? For do I not know that I am this day king over Israel?”


But he said to her, “You speak as any foolish woman would speak. Shall we receive the good at the hand of God, and not receive the bad?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.


With whose help have you uttered words, and whose spirit has come forth from you?


therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”


A scoffer who is rebuked will only hate you; the wise, when rebuked, will love you.


The heart is devious above all else; it is perverse— who can understand it?


But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; for you are setting your mind not on divine things but on human things.”


Peter said to him, “Though all become deserters because of you, I will never desert you.”


Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”


Suddenly, one of those with Jesus put his hand on his sword, drew it, and struck the slave of the high priest, cutting off his ear.


When his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”


Then they went on to another village.


about sin, because they do not believe in me;


From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this ought not to be so.


Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing.


I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.
