A centurion there had a slave whom he valued highly, and who was ill and close to death.


When they came to Jesus, they appealed to him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy of having you do this for him,


Just then there came a man named Jairus, a leader of the synagogue. He fell at Jesus' feet and begged him to come to his house,


Just then a man from the crowd shouted, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son; he is my only child.


When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.


I am appealing to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I have become during my imprisonment.
