and put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the covenant, or he will die.


The angel replied, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.


And he came to her and said, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.”


But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people:


Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.


But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors, brought them out, and said,


Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?


Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar before God,


And the angel of the Lord appeared to the woman and said to her, “Although you are barren, having borne no children, you shall conceive and bear a son.


God listened to Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman as she sat in the field; but her husband Manoah was not with her.
