Prove me, O Lord, and try me; test my heart and mind.


The perverse get what their ways deserve, and the good, what their deeds deserve.


The Pharisee, standing by himself, was praying thus, ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people: thieves, rogues, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.


Examine yourselves, and only then eat of the bread and drink of the cup.


If what has been built on the foundation survives, the builder will receive a reward.
