But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Get up, go to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?’


gold, silver, bronze, and iron. Now begin the work, and the Lord be with you.”


Ashkelon shall see it and be afraid; Gaza too, and shall writhe in anguish; Ekron also, because its hopes are withered. The king shall perish from Gaza; Ashkelon shall be uninhabited;


They answered, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say.”


When the angel who spoke to him had left, he called two of his slaves and a devout soldier from the ranks of those who served him,


And immediately, because he had not given the glory to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.


For last night there stood by me an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I worship,


But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors, brought them out, and said,


Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over to this chariot and join it.”


Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah to them.


Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
