2 Kings 6:8
13 Mga Krus na Reperensya

King Ben-hadad of Aram gathered all his army together; thirty-two kings were with him, along with horses and chariots. He marched against Samaria, laid siege to it, and attacked it.

The servants of the king of Aram said to him, “Their gods are gods of the hills, and so they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.

Ben-hadad said to him, “I will restore the towns that my father took from your father; and you may establish bazaars for yourself in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria.” The king of Israel responded, “I will let you go on those terms.” So he made a treaty with him and let him go.

For three years Aram and Israel continued without war.

Now the king of Aram had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, “Fight with no one small or great, but only with the king of Israel.”

Some time later King Ben-hadad of Aram mustered his entire army; he marched against Samaria and laid siege to it.

He said, “Pick it up.” So he reached out his hand and took it.

But the man of God sent word to the king of Israel, “Take care not to pass this place, because the Arameans are going down there.”

Plans are established by taking advice; wage war by following wise guidance.

No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel, can avail against the Lord.

Take counsel together, but it shall be brought to naught; speak a word, but it will not stand, for God is with us.
