But they said, “Stand back!” And they said, “This fellow came to sojourn, and he has become the judge! Now we will deal worse with you than with them.” Then they pressed hard against the man Lot, and drew near to break the door down.


and say, ‘Thus says the king, “Put this fellow in prison and feed him meager rations of bread and water, until I come in peace.”’”


When Jehu came out to the servants of his master, they said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” And he said to them, “You know the fellow and his talk.”


Thus says the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel and his Holy One, to one deeply despised, abhorred by the nation, the servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall prostrate themselves; because of the Lord, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”


He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.


But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.”


And the high priest stood up and said, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?”


And when he went out to the entrance, another servant girl saw him, and she said to the bystanders, “This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.”


and saying, “You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”


And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself.


“We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.’”


And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads and saying, “Aha! You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,


And they began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding us to give tribute to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, a king.”


We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man, we do not know where he comes from.”

saying, “This man is persuading people to worship God contrary to the law.”


Up to this word they listened to him. Then they raised their voices and said, “Away with such a fellow from the earth! For he should not be allowed to live.”
