Matthew 17:12
25 Mga Krus na Reperensya

Now when John had heard, in prison, about the works of Christ, sending two of his disciples, he said to him,

From that time, Jesus began to reveal to his disciples that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and to suffer much from the elders and the scribes and the leaders of the priests, and to be killed, and to rise again on the third day.

But in response, he said to them: "Elijah, indeed, shall arrive and restore all things.

Then the disciples understood that he had spoken to them about John the Baptist.

And they will kill him, but he will rise again on the third day." And they were extremely saddened.

And as they were descending from the mountain, Jesus instructed them, saying, "Tell no one about the vision, until the Son of man has risen from the dead."

For John came to you in the way of justice, and you did not believe him. But the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. Yet even after seeing this, you did not repent, so as to believe him.

And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have dens, and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man has nowhere to rest his head."

For John the Baptist came, neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.'

He went to his own, and his own did not accept him.

This man, under the definitive plan and foreknowledge of God, was delivered by the hands of the unjust, afflicted, and put to death.

let it be known to all of you and to all of the people of Israel, that in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God has raised from the dead, by him, this man stands before you, healthy.

Which of the Prophets have your fathers not persecuted? And they killed those who foretold the advent of the Just One. And you have now become the betrayers and murderers of him.
