But if that evil servant should say in his heart, 'My master is delaying to come,'


Then after much time, the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.


but the wise took oil in their vessels along with their lamps.


And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!'


Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "What? Were you not strong enough to watch with Me one hour?


And He came and found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy.


And the people waited for Zacharias, and they marveled at his delaying in the temple.


But if that servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk,


I tell you that He will execute justice for them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"


Then He began to tell the people this parable: "A man planted a vineyard, leased it to farmers, and went on a journey for a long time.


And do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for us to be roused out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we believed.


Therefore He says: "Awake, you who are sleeping, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."


Be sober, be watchful; your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour.


Only hold fast what you have till I come.
