Sell your possessions and give alms; make for yourselves money bags which do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where a thief does not come near, nor does a moth destroy.


Therefore if you were not faithful with the unrighteous mammon, who will entrust to you what is genuine?


"But woe to you who are rich, because you have received your consolation.


But according to your hardness and impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation, and of the righteous judgment of God,


as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.


But those desiring to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many senseless and harmful lusts which sink men in destruction and perdition.


Listen, my beloved brothers. Did God not choose the poor of the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those that love Him?


"I know your works, and your tribulation, and your poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
