So he went and took them and brought them to his mother, and his mother prepared delicious food, such as his father loved.


And the man of God said to the king, “If you give me half your house, I will not go in with you. And I will not eat bread or drink water in this place,


And the Lord said to him, ‘By what means?’ And he said, ‘I will go out, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And he said, ‘You are to entice him, and you shall succeed; go out and do so.’


that he may incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments, his statutes, and his rules, which he commanded our fathers.


Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!


Do not drag me off with the wicked, with the workers of evil, who speak peace with their neighbors while evil is in their hearts.


O Lord, why do you make us wander from your ways and harden our heart, so that we fear you not? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your heritage.


These invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods.


And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.


So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.


Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
