And at noon Elijah mocked them, saying, “Cry aloud, for he is a god. Either he is musing, or he is relieving himself, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened.”


And when he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we refrain?” And he answered him, “Go up and triumph; the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.”


And Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and to the prophets of your mother.” But the king of Israel said to him, “No; it is the Lord who has called these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab.”


Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.


“As for you, O house of Israel, thus says the Lord God: Go serve every one of you his idols, now and hereafter, if you will not listen to me; but my holy name you shall no more profane with your gifts and your idols.


“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”


Then Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went to the chief priests in order to betray him to them.


And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.”


And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.


And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they did not know what to answer him.


Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.”


And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!


for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.”


And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.


“Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour.


When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you,


So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.


These words he spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple; but no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.


Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whom you have now betrayed and murdered,


Go and cry out to the gods whom you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.”
