13 As for my sacrificial offerings, they sacrifice meat and eat it, but the Lord does not accept them. Now he will remember their iniquity and punish their sins; they shall return to Egypt.

“You shall have no other gods before me.


But now go, lead the people to the place about which I have spoken to you; behold, my angel shall go before you. Nevertheless, in the day when I visit, I will visit their sin upon them.”


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; how much more when he brings it with evil intent.


“What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices? says the Lord; I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of well-fed beasts; I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of goats.


Thus says the Lord concerning this people: “They have loved to wander thus; they have not restrained their feet; therefore the Lord does not accept them; now he will remember their iniquity and punish their sins.”


What use to me is frankincense that comes from Sheba, or sweet cane from a distant land? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing to me.


And it shall never again be the reliance of the house of Israel, recalling their iniquity, when they turn to them for aid. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.”


They shall not return to the land of Egypt, but Assyria shall be their king, because they have refused to return to me.


If there is iniquity in Gilead, they shall surely come to nothing: in Gilgal they sacrifice bulls; their altars also are like stone heaps on the furrows of the field.


And it shall be like people, like priest; I will punish them for their ways and repay them for their deeds.


With their flocks and herds they shall go to seek the Lord, but they will not find him; he has withdrawn from them.


For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.


Ephraim is like a dove, silly and without sense, calling to Egypt, going to Assyria.


They return, but not upward; they are like a treacherous bow; their princes shall fall by the sword because of the insolence of their tongue. This shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.


But they do not consider that I remember all their evil. Now their deeds surround them; they are before my face.

The days of punishment have come; the days of recompense have come; Israel shall know it. The prophet is a fool; the man of the spirit is mad, because of your great iniquity and great hatred.


They have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah: he will remember their iniquity; he will punish their sins.


“You only have I known of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.


Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; and the peace offerings of your fattened animals, I will not look upon them.


The Lord has sworn by the pride of Jacob: “Surely I will never forget any of their deeds.


Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.


When you come together, it is not the Lord’s supper that you eat.


For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.


Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.


And the Lord will bring you back in ships to Egypt, a journey that I promised that you should never make again; and there you shall offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but there will be no buyer.”
