“Issachar is a strong donkey, crouching between the sheepfolds.


“Dan shall judge his people as one of the tribes of Israel.


Now when the king lived in his house and the Lord had given him rest from all his surrounding enemies,


“I relieved your shoulder of the burden; your hands were freed from the basket.


The hand of the diligent will rule, while the slothful will be put to forced labor.


“And the Assyrian shall fall by a sword, not of man; and a sword, not of man, shall devour him; and he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be put to forced labor.


“Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made his army labor hard against Tyre. Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was rubbed bare, yet neither he nor his army got anything from Tyre to pay for the labor that he had performed against her.


They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.


Now the name of Hebron formerly was Kiriath-arba. (Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim.) And the land had rest from war.


So the land had rest forty years. Then Othniel the son of Kenaz died.
