And King Ahaz commanded Uriah the priest, saying, “On the great altar burn the morning burnt offering and the evening grain offering and the king’s burnt offering and his grain offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their grain offering and their drink offering. And throw on it all the blood of the burnt offering and all the blood of the sacrifice, but the bronze altar shall be for me to inquire by.”


Uriah the priest did all this, as King Ahaz commanded.


Do you indeed decree what is right, you gods? Do you judge the children of man uprightly?


But the midwives feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but let the male children live.


Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and all the people, saying, “The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the words you have heard.

So Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat it.”


Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”


Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.


saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”


But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.


I speak as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say.


But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.


Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.


This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,


By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.


have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
