Tell it not in Geth, publish it not in the streets of Ascalon: lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.


These four were born of Arapha in Geth, and they fell by the hand of David and of his servants.


And Ochozias fell through the lattices of his upper chamber which he had in Samaria, and was sick. And he sent messengers, saying to them: Go, consult Beelzebub, the god of Accaron, whether I shall recover of this my illness.


Moreover he went forth and fought against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Geth, and the wall of Jabnia, and the wall of Azotus. And he built towns in Azotus. And among the Philistines.


And all in general: all the kings of the land of Ausitis, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines and Ascalon and Gaza and Accaron and the remnant of Azotus.


But if he be not able to offer a beast, let him offer two turtles, or two young pigeons to the Lord, one for sin, and the other for a holocaust,


Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four I will not convert it: because they have carried away a perfect captivity to shut them up in Edom.

And the Philistines took the ark of God, and carried it from the Stone of Help into Azotus.


Therefore they sent the ark of God into Accaron. And when the ark of God was come into Accaron, the Accaronites cried out, saying: They have brought the ark of the God of Israel to us, to kill us and our people.


And sending, they gathered together all the lords of the Philistines to them, and said: What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And the Gethrites answered: Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about.


They answered: What is it we ought to render unto him for sin? And they answered:
