And he appointed for himself priests of high places, and of demons, and of calves that he had made.


And they have built the exalted places of Baal, in order to burn their children with fire as a holocaust to Baal, something that I did not instruct or speak of, nor did it enter into my heart.


And I will take away from Moab, says the Lord, the one who makes offerings in exalted places, and the one who sacrifices to his gods.


A fire has gone forth from Heshbon, a flame from the town of Sihon, and it has devoured Ar of the Moabites, and the inhabitants of the heights of Arnon.


And after Balak had killed oxen and sheep, he sent the gifts to Balaam, and to the leaders who were with him.


And Balaam said to Balak, "Build seven altars here for me, and prepare as many calves, and the same number of rams."


Therefore, Balak said: "Come with me to another place, from where you may see a portion of Israel, though you cannot see them all. Curse them from there."


Overturn all the places where the nations, which you will possess, worshipped their gods on lofty mountains, and on hills, and under every leafy tree.
