Laziness sends one into a deep sleep, and a dissolute soul will go hungry.


Whatever your hand is able to do, do it earnestly. For neither work, nor reason, nor wisdom, nor knowledge will exist in death, toward which you are hurrying.


Behold, this was the iniquity of Sodom, your sister: arrogance, indulgence in bread and abundance, and the idleness of her and her daughters; and they did not reach out their hand to the needy and the poor.


So they went forth. But again, he went out about the sixth, and about the ninth hour, and he acted similarly.


They say to him, 'Because no one has hired us.' He said to them, 'You also may go into my vineyard.'


And so, when those who had arrived about the eleventh hour came forward, each received a single denarius.


I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day: the night is coming, when no one is able to work.


(Now all the Athenians, and arriving visitors, were occupying themselves with nothing other than speaking or hearing various new ideas.)


so that you may not be slow to act, but instead may be imitators of those who, through faith and patience, shall inherit the promises.
