John 8:53
14 Marejeleo ya Msalaba

For unto us a child is born, and unto us a son is given. And leadership is placed upon his shoulder. And his name shall be called: wonderful Counselor, mighty God, father of the future age, Prince of Peace.

But I say to you, that something greater than the temple is here.

And do not choose to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I tell you that God has the power to raise up sons to Abraham from these stones.

The Jews answered him: "We do not stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy and because, though you are a man, you make yourself God."

The crowd answered him: "We have heard, from the law, that the Christ remains forever. And so how can you say, 'The Son of man must be lifted up?' Who is this Son of man?"

The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and according to the law, he ought to die, for he has made himself the Son of God."

Surely, you are not greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and who drank from it, with his sons and his cattle?"

And so, because of this, the Jews were seeking to kill him even more so. For not only did he break the Sabbath, but he even said that God was his Father, making himself equal to God.

Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham was made, I am."

Theirs are the fathers, and from them, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is over all things, blessed God, for all eternity. Amen.
