Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “See, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not accepting from his hand what he brought. As the Lord lives, I will run after him and get something from him.”


But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me.


And when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste?


For this ointment could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they scolded her.


Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing,
