In the second year of Darius the king, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of YHWH came through Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying:

Then I asked him, “What are these two olive trees on the right side of the lamp stand and on the left side of it?”

He answered me, “Don’t you know what these are?” I said, “No, my lord.”

He said to them, “Y’all will indeed drink my cup, but to sit on my right or left is not mine to give. Rather, it is for those whom it has been prepared by my Father.”

These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands, standing before the Lord of the earth.
