Now Ephron was sitting in the middle of the children of Heth. Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the hearing of the children of Heth, even of all who went in at the gate of his city, saying,


They blessed Rebekah, and said to her, “Our sister, may you be the mother of thousands of ten thousands, and let your offspring possess the gate of those who hate them.”


Laban had two daughters. The name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.


When morning come, there was Leah! He said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?”


Leah conceived, and bore a son, and she named him Reuben. For she said, “Because YHWH has looked at my affliction; for now my husband will love me.”


The sons of Leah: Reuben (Jacob’s firstborn), Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.


The sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.


So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and to the nobles who were in his city, who lived with Naboth.

then his brother’s wife is to come to him in the presence of the elders, and remove his sandal from off his foot, and spit in his face. She will answer and say, “This is to be done to the man who does not build up his brother’s house.”


The man’s name was Elimelech, his wife’s name was Naomi, and his two sons’ names were Mahlon and Chilion. They were Ephrathites from Bethlehem in Judah. And they entered the land of Moab and lived there.
