Therefore, whatever y’all want humans to do for y’all, y’all should do for them, for this is the law and the prophets.

This means that no one should violate and take advantage of a sibling, because the Lord is an avenger in all such things, as we told y’all earlier and solemnly warned y’all.

Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “May YHWH bless him, the one who has not withdrawn his lovingkindness to the living and to the dead.” Then Naomi also said to her, “The man is our close relative, one of our kinsmen-redeemers.”

Now, my daughter, don’t be afraid. I will do for you all that you ask, for everyone in the city knows that you are a worthy woman.

Stay here tonight. In the morning, if he will marry, good, let him marry you. But if he does not want to redeem you, then as YHWH lives-lives, I will do it. Lie here until the morning.”

Boaz went up to the city gate and sat down there. Then he saw the kinsman-redeemer that he mentioned come by. Boaz said to him, “Come over here, ‘unnamed-character,’ and sit down!” So he turned and sat down.

So I thought I should inform you by saying, ‘Buy it in front of those who sit here and before the elders of my people.’ If you will redeem it, redeem it. But if you won’t redeem it, tell me, so that I may know. For there is no one besides you with the right to redeem it, and I am after you.” He said, “I will redeem it.”
