Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it on a scroll, that it may be for the time to come a witness forever.

“To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: “Thus says the First and the Last, who was dead and has come to life:


The one who sits on the throne said, “Look! I am making all things new.” Then he said, “You must write, because these words of God are faithful and true.”


He said to me, “Don’t seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, for the time is near.


I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give this testimony to y’all for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the Bright Morning Star.”


“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: “Thus says the one who holds the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name for being alive, but you are dead.


“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: “This says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of God’s creation:


Yet you have a few names in Sardis who did not defile their clothes. They will walk with me in white, because they are worthy.


“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: “Thus says the holy one, the true one, the one who holds the key of David, who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens:
