In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.


May y’all be blessed by YHWH, who made heaven and earth.


The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands.


Those who make them will be like them, as will everyone who trusts in them.


what is humanity, that you think of them? What are human beings, that you care for them?


Look, all of their deeds are vanity and nothingness. Their molten images are wind and emptiness.


God YHWH, he who created the heavens and stretched them out, he who spread out the earth and that which comes out of it, he who gives breath to its people and spirit to those who walk in it, says:


And y’all see and hear that this Paul has convinced and turned many people, not just here in Ephesus, but almost all throughout Asia. He says that gods that made with human hands are not gods.


So then, about eating things sacrificed to idols: we know that, “An idol is nothing in the world,” and that, “There is no God but one.”
