Psalm 79:1

He carried out from there all the treasures of the house of YHWH and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of YHWH, as YHWH had said.


Therefore ʜᴇ brought on them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or infirm. He gave them all into his hand.


They burned God’s house, broke down the wall of Jerusalem, burned all its palaces with fire, and destroyed all of its valuable vessels.


The Mighty God, YHWH, speaks, and calls the earth from sunrise to sunset.


from following the ewes that have their young, ʜᴇ brought him to be the shepherd of Jacob, ʜɪꜱ people, and Israel, ʜɪꜱ inheritance.


You will bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, YHWH, which you have made for yourself to dwell in: the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established.


I was angry with my people. I profaned my inheritance and gave them into your hand. You showed them no mercy. You laid a very heavy yoke on the aged.


Your holy people possessed it but a little while. Our adversaries have trodden down your sanctuary.


“Micah the Morashtite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, ‘YHWH Almighty says: “‘Zion will be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem will become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.’


The Chaldeans burned the king’s house and the people’s houses with fire and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.


“We are ashamed because we have heard reproach. Disgrace covers our faces, because strangers have come into the sanctuaries of the house of YHWH.”


He burned the house of YHWH, and the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem. Every great house, he burned with fire.


The adversary has spread out his hand on all her pleasant things; for she has seen that the nations have entered into her sanctuary, concerning whom you commanded that they should not enter into your assembly.


He said to them, “Y’all Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out!” They went out, and struck in the city.


Therefore because of y’all, Zion will be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of a forest.


They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the ethnic groups until the times of the nations are fulfilled.


Exclude the court outside of the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the ethnic groups. They will trample on the holy city for forty-two months.
