Psalm 73:12

By your hand, YHWH, deliver me from people from people of the world whose portion is in this life. You will fill their belly with your stores. Their sons will have plenty, and they leave their abundance for their children.


I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.


Those who trust in their wealth, and boast in the multitude of their riches—


“Here is the man who didn’t make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”


Y’all must not trust in oppression. Y’all must not vainly hope in robbery. If riches increase, y’all must not set your heart on them.


They will eat up your harvest and your bread, which your sons and your daughters should eat. They will eat up your flocks and your herds. They will eat up your vines and your fig trees. They will beat down your fortified cities in which you trust with the sword.


They have grown fat. They shine; yes, they excel in deeds of wickedness. They don’t plead the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they may prosper; and they don’t defend the rights of the needy.
