Absalom said to him, “Look, your claims are good and right; but there is no man deputized by the king to hear you.”


He said to the king, “Don’t let my lord impute iniquity to me, or remember that which your servant did perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart.


“Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,” says YHWH. “I will provide the safety they desire.”


from the presence of the wicked who want to destroy me, my deadly enemies who surround me.


Don’t deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen up against me, such as breathe out cruelty.


Unrighteous witnesses rise up. They ask me about things that I don’t know about.


For strangers have risen up against me. Violent men have sought after my soul. They haven’t set God before them. Selah.


saying, “God has forsaken him. Y’all pursue and seize him, for no one will rescue him.”


They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.


Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole council were trying to find false testimony against Jesus, so that they could put him to death.
