Haman recounted to them the glory of his riches, the multitude of his children, all the things in which the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.


The rich person’s wealth is their fortified city, like an unscalable wall in their imagination.


Speak, “YHWH says, “‘Human corpses will fall like dung on the open field, and as the handful after the harvester. No one will gather them.’”


“But I am YHWH your God from the land of Egypt. I will yet again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feast.


For what does it benefit a human if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what can a human give in exchange for their soul?


just as the Son of Humanity came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”


But the wise ones answered, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and y’all? Instead, y’all go to the oil sellers and buy some for yourself*.’


For what will a human give in exchange for their life?


who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.


knowing that it was not with corruptible things like silver or gold that y’all were redeemed from the useless way of life handed down from y’all’s ancestors,
