I am a joke to my friends, I called on God, and ʜᴇ answered. The righteous and blameless person is a joke.


They have gaped on me with their mouth. They have struck me on the cheek reproachfully. They gather themselves together against me.


I also could speak as y’all do. If y’all’s soul were in my soul’s place, I could join words together against y’all, and shake my head at y’all,


I have also become a reproach to them. When they see me, they shake their head.


Let the lying lips be mute, which speak against the righteous insolently, with pride and contempt.


You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.


YHWH, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: “Kings will see and rise up, princes, and they will worship, because of YHWH who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”


He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him.


Whom do y’all mock? Against whom do y’all open your mouth and stick out y’all’s tongue? Aren’t y’all children of disobedience and offspring of falsehood,


They twisted a crown of thorns and put it on his head. Then they a reed in his right hand and knelt in front of him and mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”


he said to them, “Y’all need to leave, because the girl is not dead but asleep.” But they ridiculed him.


When they had mocked him, they took the purple cloak off him and put his own garments on him. Then they led him out to crucify him.


Those who passed by insulted him, shaking their heads and saying, “Ha! You who destroy the temple and build it in three days,


The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all this and scoffed at him.


Herod with his soldiers humiliated and mocked him, dressed him in a sumptuous robe, and sent him back to Pilate.
