I cried to you, YHWH. I said, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”


Many are saying of my soul, “There is no deliverance for him in God.” Selah.


Children of humanity, how long will my glory be turned into dishonor? How long will y’all love what is worthless and seek lies? Selah.


But I am poor and needy. May the Lord think about me. You are my help and my deliverer. Don’t delay, my God.


As with a sword in my bones, my adversaries reproach me, while they continually ask me, “Where is your God?”


God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.


YHWH is a high tower for the oppressed; a high tower in times of trouble.


“‘“Because you have said, ‘These two nations and these two countries will be mine, and we will possess it,’ although YHWH was there,


Now when y’all hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music if y’all are ready to fall down and worship the image that I have made, good. But if y’all don’t worship, y’all will be cast the same hour into the middle of a burning fiery furnace. What god who will deliver you from my hands?”


so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.
